VA disability claims glossary

Extracted pages

Extracted pages are the medical-record pages our system has read and processed for you. Each page counts toward your subscription's page allowance.

What gets counted

When you upload a PDF, our system uses optical character recognition to read each page and pull out conditions, dates, providers, and rating-relevant findings. Every page we process counts as one extracted page, including pages with no usable medical content.

Tied to your plan

Your subscription includes a page allowance. The dashboard shows pages remaining so you can plan large uploads ahead of time.

Why pages, not files

A 200-page hospital record and a single-page form should not cost the same to process. Counting at the page level keeps the price proportional to the actual work the system does on your documents.
